Contemporary stories about immigrants and their families, and how the lives of individuals are intertwined the world over. Iceland is where the series interconnect, but the stories take us all over the world, and are acted out in the pertinent languages. Each of the six episodes is independent though all are connected in some way throughout the series. A supporting character in one part may reappear as a main character in another. The series explore how decisions taken in one place can have a major effect on the other side of the world. The connecting thread is the idea that our fates are interconnected but the heart of the series beats with the characters personal stories.
