A score I did for a documentary by Guðbergur Davíðsson. The documentary focuses on a Icelandic one-family history, and the restoration of their family’s graveyard. The restoration work is mostly done in an old metal workshop in a small remote village, using the same processes since 1913. I took an old pianette I had recently acquired into the studio, and recorded pieces with Helgi Svavar (drums / perc) and Daníel Friðrik (guitar / bass). Afterwards, I took the recordings back to my garage and finished the work there. Gradually, the pianette got more and more out of tune, and that felt appropriate for the project.
